| This basic pack includes several Searches useful and instructional. Even if these Searches don't meet any of your immediate needs, they can be the basis of Searches you create.
Download in Stuffit format (Mac Users) or Download in WinZip format (Windows Users)
Installing Search Files:
- Open Poirot and select the Import from the File menu
- select the Search (.ptn) file you wish to use.
- When prompted, click Save to add it to the Poirot Search menu.
Installing Compound Search Files:
- First, install any accompanying Search files (see above)—be certain to save the file under the default name
- select the Import from the File menu
- select the Compound (.cpd) file you wish to use.
- When prompted, click Save to add it to the Poirot Compound Search menu.
Included Searches

MS Cleaner (Compound Search—includes MS_delete and MS_pTag searches): removes CSS clutter from Microsoft Word exports (V.x, save display info into html option). Often cuts file size in half and improves import into HTML editors.
Find Hyperlinks: finds all hyperlinks in html local or online documents (src and href).
Find Hypertext Files: used with Poirot set to search filenames, locates all .html or .htm files in specified directories.
Find Web Graphic Files: used with Poirot set to search filenames, locates all .gif, .jpg or .png files in specified directories.
Mailto Email Address: finds all email address links in html local or online documents (in mailto: tags).
Remove HTML tags: finds (& potentially removes) all html tags in html local or online documents (in mailto: tags).

Remove Spaces: can be used to find & replace any double (or more) spaces with single spaces.
Replace html breaks: can be used to find & replace any html </p> tags with line breaks (Mac OS)
Windows Executables: used with Poirot set to search filenames, locates all .exe files
Remember to always perform search & replace functions on duplicate copies as unexpected results can occur.
